Helping Children Unlock Their Potential Through Literacy

Hidden Gems Foundation helps neurodivergent children access specialized literacy and educational support—because no child should be denied the opportunity to learn simply because their family cannot afford the help they need.

Our Mission

We believe that no child should be denied the opportunity to learn simply because their family cannot afford the help they need.

Many bright children struggle with reading, writing, and learning—not because they lack ability, but because they learn differently. Children with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and related learning differences often need specialized educational support that is expensive, difficult to access, or unavailable through traditional systems.

Hidden Gems Foundation exists to help bridge that gap.

Through scholarships, literacy initiatives, community partnerships, and educational programs, we work to ensure that more children have access to the support they need to thrive.

Why Literacy Matters

Reading is more than an academic skill, it is the foundation for confidence, independence, employment, and long-term opportunity.

36%

Only 36% of Arizona third graders are reading proficiently.

60%

More than 60% of Pima County students are not reading at grade level.

4x

Students who are not proficient readers by the end of third grade are four times more likely to leave high school without a diploma.

Early literacy changes the trajectory of a child’s entire life.

Meet The Founder

Hidden Gems Foundation was founded by educator Tina Bauschatz after years of working directly with children with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences.

Through her work, she saw firsthand how life-changing specialized educational support can be. She also saw that many families simply could not afford the services their children needed.

Hidden Gems Foundation was created to ensure that more children have access to the support, opportunities, and resources they need to thrive.

Every Child Has Potential

When he first came to us, he struggled to read even simple books and had begun to lose confidence in himself. Like many bright children with learning differences, he needed specialized support tailored to how he learned.

With the right instruction, encouragement, and support, he made remarkable progress. His story is a reminder that when children receive the help they need, their futures can change.

Every child deserves that opportunity.

Current Initiatives

Hidden Gems Foundation is currently working with local educators and school leaders to explore school-based literacy initiatives designed to improve outcomes for neurodivergent learners.

Our goal is to expand access to specialized literacy support both for individual children and within educational communities.

By investing in children, supporting educators, and strengthening literacy systems, we hope to create lasting change for students who learn differently.
